The hotel is run by fourth generation family members of the original pioneers. It is described as “simple luxury laced with character and charisma”.

An exciting day full of Patagonia wonders. We’ll navigate by boat on the waters of the Fjord to a beautiful working ranch located on the peninsula, Estancia La Peninsula. Here we’ll learn about the local gaucho culture and sheep farming in an environment where the conservation of nature and animal welfare are at the core of the operation. The choice is yours to either horseback ride on one of their prized criollo horses or trek through the estancia’s diverse landscape of wide-open pampas, green southern beech forests and rocky coastline.

A wine tasting & pairing of select Chilean and Argentine wines will take place in the evening.

Day 5 – Thursday Nov. 19 – Full Day Excursion

This excursion will enable you to feel and experience authentic Patagonia – the country side, the sheep, the horses, the wild, the remoteness, the beauty. It is a full day excursion in one of the wildest, mystic and remote areas of the Utima Esperanza area.

The drive to the mountain range is just under 2 hours. During the trip you will see a Patagonia very different from that within the Park …  you’ll see the land made famous by none other than, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

We hike in the Sierra Baguales, an impressive mountain range whose name was given by the locals for the wild horses that roam the land.  The breathtaking views, the fossils, and the seclusion of it all remind us of what a privilege place this is – reserved for adventurers with a pioneer’s spirit.
